Hello and welcome aboard

That’s me.

I’m Siobhan, pronounced like Yvonne with a “sh” in front. I’m glad you’re here, and I look forward to connecting with you. Below is a bit of my story so you know who I am.

I’ve spent most of my adult life paying attention to bodies, to breath, to dreams and symbols, the things people carry without knowing they’re carrying them.

I began teaching yoga in 1998, long before the practice found its way into every gym and wellness app. Over more than two decades, I’ve taught and practised in a variety of places in the US and Canada; I owned and ran my own studio, with a focus on Yin and restorative practices. I was often the person my students came to when they found themselves at a point in life that movement classes weren’t supposed to help with, but sometimes did anyway.

I spent a decade leading dream workshops for groups of women, using shamanic drumming to enter the dream world. These highly curated events were timed to solar and lunar cycles to harness the power of the collective’s dreams, and would then be enacted in dream theatre. This practice dates back to the Temple of Asclepius and the dream theatres of ancient Greece, where medicine, art, and spirituality were integrated into a unified healing practice. Dream incubation and drama as therapy were elevated in the healing sanctuary and used to heal both the individual and the collective.

At 44, I was diagnosed with uterine cancer. My treatment resulted in surgical-onset menopause and complications that eventually made it impossible to keep teaching. I pivoted to working online, helping other women, like myself, clarify their work and position it for the right audience. I started painting. I became a potter. I stayed close to the land we live on and slowly found my way back to myself. Not to who I was before, but to what I now understand the work was always for.

That’s what brought me here.

I believe that the world is a reflection of us and we are a reflection of it. To that end, I’ve found astrology to be a most practical tool and a discipline I’ve held for three decades alongside the somatic work, as another language for the same inquiry: what is life asking of me, right now?

At 57, I’ve made my own landfall in deep south Knoxville, TN, where my husband Jon and an ever-changing assortment of critters and our land help keep me grounded. Though I’ve been here now for over a decade, it took me that long to recognize that it was safe to remain on land. That I could still set sail anytime, returning once again to the land that has held me and given me roots to grow into the woman I could only become once my crossing was fully owned.

Now, I’m building a hybrid community for women looking for support and connection as they make their own landfall. It’s early days, and I encourage you to be a part of the building and shaping of what we’re doing. As things get settled here, I’ll begin to introduce deeper levels of the work - a 3-month group cohort and a 9-month collective immersion, including an in-person retreat, because this work was never meant to be done in isolation. My ultimate goal is to host sailing retreats for women in Greece. I invite you to stick around and see what happens.

What you’ll find here

The Harbor (Free Tier)
For those seeking a safe place to drop anchor.

As a free subscriber, you’ll receive public essays designed to help calm your nervous system, clear the wreckage of the past, and remind you that you’re no longer alone in the open ocean.

The Afterdeck (Annual Membership — $333/yr)
For those seeking substance and connection.

With your Afterdeck pass, you receive full access to the Chartroom where we’re building a vault of resources in real time together, but more importantly, you’ll start to shed the old skins of your first-act life and begin stepping into your true mature wisdom. This is where we deeply integrate the work, side by side. To facilitate that, we meet for four seasonal gatherings anchored by the predictability of the solar/lunar cycle. You’ll also have access to a private peer-to-peer community thread each month where you can share your reflections, track your transits together, and find your land legs alongside your peers.

The Afterdeck is not just a membership; it’s the destination.

What you won’t find here:

  • High volume, low value resources

  • Expectations to perform, work, or engage beyond what you actually desire or need

  • Being force-fed a method, model, or way of navigating the constantly changing weather of midlife

Making Landfall is a metaphor, not a directive. We are all the captains of our own ships. The doors to the Afterdeck are open; this is your invitation to cross the threshold and join us onboard.

See you on the water.

Siobhan
